What we make
Based on Us turns a few photos and a true story into a comic book starring the people you love. You pick the occasion and one of 15 art styles, tell us the story in your own words — how you met, the milestones, the joke nobody else gets — and we draw it. Before you pay anything you see a free sample panel and cover drawn from your actual photos, so you can judge the likeness first.
The finished comic arrives in minutes, not weeks: a private share link for the big reveal plus a printable high-res PDF. Nothing physical ships, which is exactly why nothing can arrive late.
How it works
- Add your photos. A few clear photos of them — partner, parent, best friend, or the dog.
- Tell the story. Pick the occasion, then spill the details and inside jokes. Personal beats perfect.
- Gift the comic. Download it, send the private link, or print it for the big day — then watch their face.
Why we built it
